Batista i Roca Projects. Grants to support research projects in the Social Sciences and Humanities (PBR 2008)  

 

Deadline for submittal of applications: 06/02/2008

Object: To award grants to support research projects in the Humanities and Social Sciences that involve collaboration, whether as participants or supervisors, between British/Irish and Catalan researchers.

Applicants: Eligible applicants include university-based research teams in Catalonia, Great Britain and Ireland, as well as those based in non-profit making public or private centres whose principle activity is research.
These research teams must contain a minimum of 3 researchers, amongst whom at least one must have a doctorate, with permanent link to the eligible institution. Contracts of a minimum of two years of duration, actives while the grant is in force, will be accepted as permanent links.
Interinstitutionals research teams are valued positively with a mixed composition of reserchers from Catalan centers and from British or Irish centers.

Each researcher may only form part of one team and, thus, may not appear as a member in any other application presented to this competition.

Amount: The maximum award for each project is 12,000 euros, which must be used to fund one or more of the following items:
a) Employment of technical or support staff on the project
b) Reasonable equipment costs, including books
c) Consumables
d) Publication of theses, dissertations or other significant works in the research areas covered by the competition
e) Other costs, such as transport, use of IT or technical support facilities

Place of submittal: Applications should be submitted on paper and in electronic form to:

a) The AGAUR, for projects hosted by institutions in Catalonia, registration in Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca.
